I envision life as a journey filled with challenges and opportunities. Often, the physical and emotional stresses of life can sabotage our ability to live life as fully as God intended. The weight of these stresses impacts our physical and emotional health, our relationships, work, spirituality, and overall well-being.
For over 25 years, I’ve worked with individuals who have experienced physical, emotional and relational challenges and trauma. My goal in therapy is to help the individual experience the Lord’s presence as their main resource for managing life. I want to help them understand the steps to healing and to realize their value – their identity in Christ. None of this is possible without Jesus’ guidance and grace.
I have a private practice in Grand Rapids specializing in all forms of trauma, physical health and relational issues. For the last 4 years I have worked part-time for Focus on the Family in their Hope Restored program doing Intensive Marriage therapy.
I have worked as a Behavioral Health Counselor in clinics, hospitals and alternative medicine departments for 20 years. I have also worked for 3 years at a psychiatric hospital with trauma and eating disorder patients.
I graduated from John Brown University for my undergrad and Western Michigan University with my Masters in Counseling Psychology.
I have certifications in Formational Counseling/Prayer; EMDR, and Intensive Marital Therapy
