Central Bible Ministries has a rich history of ministry in Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya and Liberia. Now we have additional outreaches into Uganda. What a great opportunity to look outside of ourselves and touch lives worldwide for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Tanzania, East Africa

Our founder, Bishop John Williams with his wife Catherine began ministry in Tanzania in 2002 with a crusade, feeding program and church plant. God devinely connected them with a woman with a heart for the Gospel of Jesus Christ named Perpetua. Perpetua was the first woman ever ordained in the nation of Tanzania as a Christian Pastor. The slideshow below shows the progression of the church planted in Dar es Salaam.

John Williams Christian Academy

The John Williams Christian Academy, a Christian school and feeding program for children of all ages was established in 2010 through Pastor Jones L. Morris and his wife Sarah. Started in a tiny block building, the school has grown and expanded, even through the challenges of the Ebola crisis.

Kumi, Uganda
G.R.A.C.E.

G.R.A.C.E. is a NGO (Non-Profit) in Kumi, Uganda, started by Sam Akora, the Director.  He noticed that the teenage girls in remote villages were not receiving an education because of the culture's view on women, the poverty in the area, and teenage pregnancy.  Sam believed that this needed to change and that God values all children.  He knew that he could change this dynamic by starting a ministry to help girls receive an education, learn life skills, help dropouts, and show the community girls do have worth and value their in the village and with God.  He called the ministry The Gift of a Girl Foundation.  We have now agreed that the name needed a rebrand and now we are G.R.A.C.E. (Girls Receiving A Christian Education) in Africa.
