Comfort in Your Crisis

Messages of Mercy - Advent 2024 - Day 5

"Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah... Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD... Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned... The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD... Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low... He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young." (Isaiah 39:5-40:11 KJV)

Bad news first: Everything's going to Babylon. Sound familiar? Maybe your "everything" was lost to addiction, seized in asset forfeiture, or scattered by poor choices. But notice how quickly God follows hard truth with tender comfort.

This passage moves from total loss to total love, from consequences to comfort, from warfare to peace. For anyone facing court dates, program requirements, or recovery challenges, hear this: Your warfare is accomplished. Your debt is paid. Your Shepherd is coming.

Your Comfort Truth:
The same God who honestly confronts your past promises to tenderly carry you into your future. He's not just your Judge; He's your Gentle Shepherd.
