"But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." (Galatians 4:4-6)
"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope... Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." (Romans 15:4,13 KJV)
When's the last time you saw "Son of God" listed as your next of kin? This message of adoption hits differently when you've sat in a booking room listing emergency contacts, or when family ties have been strained by addiction.
God didn't just send a Savior - He sent an adoption attorney. Jesus came to legally, permanently change your status. No more "inmate number." No more "defendant." No more "addict." You're family now.
Your Identity Truth:
The same Spirit that cries "Abba" dwells in you. Your rap sheet might say "offender," but your adoption papers say "offspring." Your past says "hopeless," but your Father says "heir."
